Health → Fitness
Daily steps, heart rate, sleep, stress and body battery from a linked Garmin Connect account, with your recorded activities alongside them.
Linking your Garmin account
Go to Settings → Garmin (fitness) — the same place as your bank, contacts and calendar connections — and enter your Garmin Connect email and password. The Fitness page links there too when nothing is connected yet.
Your password is used once, to obtain access tokens, and is never stored. What Kancil keeps is the tokens, encrypted — so a Kancil administrator with database access still cannot sign in to your Garmin account.
If your Garmin account uses two-factor authentication, you will be asked for the code after the first step. Complete it promptly: the half-finished link is held for ten minutes and then discarded, and you start again.
Your first data
Linking does not import your history. The first sync pulls the last few days; everything older arrives through Backfill.
Press Backfill in Settings → Garmin (fitness) to walk one window further into the past. It is capped per run on purpose — see Fitness data — so press it again to keep going. It tells you when it has reached the beginning of your records.
Reading the charts
Pick a range at the top: 14 days, 30 days, 90 days or a year.
Only metrics that actually carried data are charted. Anything your band did not record is listed under Not being collected rather than shown as an empty graph, because an empty graph looks like a fault.
A break in a line means no data for that day, not a zero. See Fitness data.
Keeping it up to date
If automatic syncing is enabled on your instance, Kancil pulls new data on a schedule. Sync now — on the Fitness page or in Settings — always works regardless, and re-reads the last few days — which is how last night's sleep gets corrected once Garmin finalises it.
When it stops working
A banner appears at the top of the page when a connection needs re-linking.
This is worth taking seriously, because the symptom is otherwise invisible: the charts simply stop extending, and a flat line looks much like a quiet week. Garmin tokens expire, and changing your Garmin password invalidates them immediately. Re-link and syncing resumes.
Activities
Health → Activities lists recorded workouts newest first — type, duration, distance, average heart rate and calories.
Unlinking
Unlink from Settings → Garmin (fitness). Unlinking removes the connection and stops all syncing. Your collected history is kept unless you ask for it to be removed, so you can re-link later without losing what you have.
