Fitness data
Kancil collects your Garmin data through your own Garmin Connect account. Four things about how that works explain almost every question people ask about it.
It is yours, and only yours
Fitness records are owner-only. There is no sharing, no members list, and no way to grant anyone access — not even someone you share a project or a company with. That is a deliberate boundary, the same one that applies to your contacts and calendar.
A "day" is your band's local day
Garmin reports each day against the calendar date on your device, and Kancil stores it under exactly that label rather than converting it to a timestamp.
This matters when you travel. A day recorded while you were in another timezone belongs to the date your watch thought it was, which is also what the Garmin app shows you — so the two always agree.
A gap is not a zero
If your band did not record something, Kancil stores nothing for it and the chart shows a gap.
That is on purpose. A day you did not wear the band and a day you did not move are completely different facts, and a chart that draws both as zero is telling you something untrue. Wherever you see a break in a line, the honest reading is "no data", not "nothing happened".
The Not being collected panel lists metrics that had no data at all over the last month. If something you expect is in that list, either your band does not record it or the connection needs attention.
Recent days keep changing
Garmin revises a day for a while after it ends — sleep in particular is often not finalised until hours later, and stress and body battery get recomputed.
So each sync re-reads the last few days rather than only fetching new ones. If you look at last night's sleep first thing in the morning and again at lunch, the second number is the more accurate one.
History goes back only as far as you have pulled it
Linking an account does not import your whole Garmin history. Kancil starts collecting from the day you link, and Backfill walks backwards from there one window at a time.
That is deliberate: a backfill makes hundreds of requests against your own Garmin account, and doing it in bounded steps is what keeps it from tripping a rate limit. Press it repeatedly to go further back; it stops on its own once it reaches a stretch with no data, which is where your records begin.
