The list of types available when logging an activity.

Built-in and your own

Kancil ships a small set of built-in types, marked as such. You can add your own — the placeholder suggests "WhatsApp", which is exactly the case this exists for: the channel your clients actually use is not something a product can predict.

Add, rename and delete freely. Types carry an icon so a timeline is scannable without reading every line.

Keeping the list short

The temptation is a type per nuance. Resist it: the value of the type is that it makes a timeline skimmable, and fifteen types are not skimmable.

A good test — if you would never filter by it, it does not need to be a type. Put the nuance in the activity's subject instead.

Renaming and deleting

Renaming is safe: existing activities keep their type and show the new name.

Deleting a type that activities already use leaves those activities without a meaningful type, so prefer renaming a type you no longer like over deleting and recreating it.
